What’s free?
Unlimited screen and window recording, one live smart-zoom preset, and standard-quality export. No trial, no time limit, no account needed.
What does Lapiz Pro unlock?
The full multi-track editor, recording multiple windows at once, high & maximum quality export, webcam background effects, unlimited zoom presets, and keystroke overlay — a one-time $39, yours forever, including bug fixes.
What’s Lapiz Pro + Updates?
Everything in Lapiz Pro, plus every new feature as it ships and priority support, for $29/year. It’s optional: buy Pro once and keep using it forever without renewing — renew only if you want new features as they land.
How does license activation work?
Buying through Polar, our Merchant of Record, issues a license key tied to your purchase. Enter that key in the app to activate it — there’s no account to create. The app checks the key against Polar’s servers on launch and periodically afterward.
Privacy & how it works
Does anything I record ever leave my Mac?
No. Recording, editing, rendering, and export all happen locally — there’s no cloud processing and no upload step. The only network activity is the license check against Polar’s servers.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There are no accounts anywhere — not for the Lapiz app, not for Lightbox, not for tools.lapiz.dev. Purchases are tracked by license key only.

What is Lightbox?
A free, browser-based tool for styling and batch-treating still images — drop in screenshots or product shots and apply one treatment across all of them. It runs entirely in your browser; nothing you style there is uploaded anywhere. It now lives at tools.lapiz.dev.
What’s tools.lapiz.dev?
A small hub of free, browser-based image tools — convert, resize, and compress — alongside Lightbox. No account, no upload to a server required.

What do I need to run Lapiz?
A Mac running a recent version of macOS. We don’t have exact minimum version requirements pinned down yet — check back closer to launch.
Where do I get help?
